Fact: No, although they are healthy fat, they are still 100% energy dense. All type of fats provide the same amount of calorie (1 g contributes to 9kcal). Excessive intake of any fats (include good fats) may lead to weight problem.Therefore, rather than increase intake of good fats on top of the high fat food, they should be used as substitution for solids fats.
Nuts are good sources of PUFA, but should limit to the recommendation of 30g/day or a handful amount. They would be a better choice of snack compared to French fries. Add nuts in salad and olive oil/ low fat yoghurt as salad dressing instead of mayonnaise /thousand islands.
